Microsoft has announced a new feature that will result in signatures being stored in the Office365 cloud instead of on the user's hard drive when using Outlook on the desktop. This new feature will have a short and long term impact on the functionality of Mailtastic EasySync for Windows, as EasySync creates the locally stored signature files or synchronizes every 60 minutes with the Mailtastic Platform.
In the long run we expect this new feature to be positive for us and you, as it opens the way to make the signature, configured in Mailtastic, available on mobile devices without rerouting.
At the moment there is no more detailed information from Microsoft on many topics, so we only communicate our expectations until the beta version is released. As soon as development accounts have access to this feature, we will start with the analysis and development.
We assume that the update announced by Microsoft will result in EasySync not being able to update the signature files already created and not being able to create new signatures.
We do not assume that problems will occur with already created signatures.
In view of the many third-party Outlook extensions affected by this, Microsoft has provided a registry entry that can be used to disable this behavior. We will publish an updated EasySync version soon (and inform you about it separately), which will automatically set this entry at the users and thus ensure the operation without restrictions. Alternatively, you can set this registry entry yourself (it can also be distributed via GPO).
Microsoft explains in a UserVoice article that an extension of the GraphAPI is planned, with which signatures can be managed in the future. As soon as there is more information from Microsoft about this, we will start working on a new solution that will probably be even more comfortable, versatile and easy for you than EasySync already is today.
